Ezra 4 - Renew the mission

How should you act towards those who have a different identity and story than you? God's mission was to use Israel to be a blessing to all nations but when the Samaritans come and offer help in rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem the leaders reject them. Like Jesus, we are to invite others to join in God's community and walk humbly with those around us.

Ezra 3 - Rebuild community

After 70 years in exile in Babylon, the nation of Israel comes back to Jerusalem with all the resources they need to accomplish the task of rebuilding the temple. The work stalls as all the people settle in their own towns until a few leaders rise up to rebuild the community around a shared identity and a shared worship. Once the work was begun the people had mixed reactions to the progress.

Ezra 1&2 - Rebuild!

We begin a new series on the book of Ezra. This introductory message gives the context for where the book of Ezra fits into the history of Israel. It's a fantastic beginning of the story about God stirring in the hearts of a foreign king and the people of Israel returning to Jerusalem with all the resources they need to rebuild the temple. Unfortunately, the rebuilding will be a difficult task.

We are a worshipping community of Jesus followers - Acts 2:42-47

The first group of disciples that followed Jesus devoted themselves to 4 things week in and out-Apostles' teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer . From the overflow of that focus, the Lord used this broken group of people to change the world. Let's keep the main things the main things.

We are the Family of God - Mark 3:31-35

As a worshiping community of Jesus followers we belong to the family of God!  The precious identity of believers as the family of God is an invitation to belong, to authentic relationships and to discipleship.

We are the Body of Christ - 1 Corinthians 12

We are the Body of Christ. We are one body but many members, each has been given a unique gift, service or activity for the common good. We need your gift as we climb together for the glory of God. How high will we climb as a church? 

We are the Bride of Christ - Ephsians 5:22-33

As a worshiping community of Jesus followers we are called the Bride of Christ. We enter this covenant relationship in response to the love of Christ that sanctifies us and works in us to become more like Jesus. How will you respond to his love?

We are the Church - Matthew 16:18

Jesus brings his disciples to a broken city to announce that he will build His Church. As a worshiping community of Jesus followers we are the church, called out for a purpose. The church both gathered gathered and scattered with the mission of Jesus.
