Exodus 5 - From bad to worse

Special guest speaker, Chris Gorman. God called Moses to rescue his people from slavery in Egypt. There is a renewed hope in redemption so when things go from bad to worse following the call of the Lord, everyone turns to someone to be rescued. The people of Israel cry out to pharaoh to save them but Moses cries out to the Lord!

Exodus 4 - A Fearful Call

God Almighty meets Moses in the wilderness and calls him to go back to Egypt to lead His people out. This high calling of faith in obedience is met by some concerns and fears from Moses. What if people don't listen? What if he is not good enough? What if his past disqualifies him? God in his grace offers him 3 signs to encourage him along the way.

Exodus 3 - The Burning Bush

When God gets Moses attention and he finally turns aside from what he is doing and sees, God speaks to him and invites him in to relationship. God reveals the three step layer to his name. He is powerful, he partners with humanity and God is personal!

Exodus 2 - Drawn out!

Moses is born in a dark period of history. He is placed by his mother into the Nile River a slave and brought out a son of the King. He is saved through the waters and trained in Pharaoh's house. After killing an Egyptian he flees to the wilderness and sits down by a well where he finds a wife.

Exodus 1 - Called out for a purpose

We begin a new series in the book of Exodus. This story shaped the way the New Testament writers understood God, who Jesus was, our calling, redemption, salvation, forgiveness and our vocation. We begin in chapter one considering the fear of man versus the fear of God demonstrated in the lives of the King of Egypt and the Hebrew midwives.

Ezra 9 - 10

Ezra discovers that many of the returned Israelites have taken foreign wives. He responds by telling everyone that they need to divorce their wives. It's a complicated passage that leaves you unsettled and expecting more. Jesus is the answer to Israel's heart problem!

Ezra 8 - Reluctant Servants

Ezra's journey from Babylon to Jerusalem brings him to several places along his trip. A place of reluctance, a place of faith and a place of responsibility. As we walk this life of faith in Jesus we may find ourselves in these places at times. What can we learn about his journey that can help us live lives of courageous faith?

Ezra 7 - Restored Word

Ezra returns to Jerusalem and the temple to restore the Word of God to the central place in the temple. A foreign king recognizing the authority and power of God's Word, will the people of God value it the same? Will you be shaped by the Word of God or the culture around you?

Ezra 5&6 - Reclaiming Glory

The temple in Jerusalem lay in a heap of ruin because of Israel's sin and idolatry. After 70 years in exile and a frustrated start, the temple is finally rebuilt in our text today. We are told that it was by decree of God using foreign kings and people and the Jewish people to reclaim a place for his glory in a house of worship.

God's Antidote for Anxiety

Special guest speaker Peter Law gives an encouraging message on dealing with anxiety from the book of Philippians.
