Moses is reunited with his family and recalls how God has worked on Israel's behalf. The next day Jethro notices that Moses is sitting in the seat of judge from morning until evening and gives some sound advice to Moses. He asks him two questions, what are you doing and why are you doing it alone. The main mission of the people of God is to make disciples and they need a plurality of leadership.

A slavery mentality compares and complains, always grasps for more and can never stop striving and working. Freedom in Christ allows you to be present and thankful, satisfied and with ability to rest.

God calls Israel out of slavery in Egypt but before they are ready to go they will need to let go of any idols they are holding on to. God in the plagues confronts the gods of Egypt and shows just who He is. Over and over we are told that God is bringing the plagues so that "you will know that I am the LORD and there is no one like me!"
