The disciples want to know who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus response is to tune their hearts to seek the lost, reconcile with their brothers and sisters and consider the forgiveness of their gracious Heavenly Father.

Jesus climbs a high mountain with his disciples and transfigures before them. A voice from heaven calls out, "this is my beloved son." From the mountain to the valley where they encounter a man with his son who is suffering and Jesus heals him. Then the disciples go fishing to pay for the temple tax because the "sons are free." The beloved Son of God becomes the son of man to heal and free the sons and daughters of men. Jesus suffering reveals His glory!

We discover through 3 scenes in Matthew 15 that God often chooses people with messy hands open to the Lord to bless others and find satisfaction. First, the disciples will have to get over 3 fears before giving bread to others: Am I good enough? Are they good enough? Do I have enough?

The resurrection of Jesus changed everything! Jesus, the first-fruit from the dead sets our hope on resurrected life and the final destiny of a new heaven and a new earth. From that place, the King announces from the throne "I will make all things new!" The redemption and recreation of what we know to be made perfect and new!
