Matthew 26 - Remember

As Jesus enters the last night before his betrayal he wants his disciples to remember 3 things. There is hope in God's plan, there is freedom in giving and there is joy in remembering. Matthew puts 3 sets of opposing people and emotions beside each other and culminates at the last supper.

Matthew 25 - Until He Comes

Jesus gives special instructions to his disciples as they wait for the Lord to return. They were to be prepared and invest in the Kingdom of God while waiting for His return.

Matthew 24 - The End of the Age

The disciples ask Jesus two questions after they hear him talk about the destruction of the temple. They ask when those things will happen and when will be the end of the age.

Matthew 23 - Woe is me!

Jesus turns and announces 7 woe's to the scribes and pharisees who are saying one thing and doing another! Jesus had wanted to gather his people to himself and protect them but they rebelled far from him. These woe's serve as warning to each of us especially in today's culture!

Matthew 22 - The Great Command

A scribe tests Jesus with a question of what is THE Great Command. Out of the 613 commands which one is the greatest? Jesus response was simple and two fold, love God and love others!

Matthew 22 - Stamped in His Image

The Pharisees come and test Jesus with a question about taxes but get an object lesson of being stamped in the image of their creator. The Sadducees come and test Jesus with a question concerning the resurrection of which they don't believe in. Jesus once again amazes them by revealing the character of God in his power and creativity not limited by their understanding or imagination.

Matthew 21 - Do you see clearly?

In Jesus patience and grace he leads us to see our blind spots, weakness and sin so that we can respond and receive forgiveness and freedom. Jesus leads us to see clearly our own blindness, his glory and an opportunity to respond to his call.
