1 Samuel 15 & 16 - The heart of the matter!

Saul falls into the age old cycle of sin, seeing something is good in his own eyes, taking it and blaming others when confronted with his sin. God on the other hand, sees the world much differently. He sees the heart of the matter, from his heart to ours!

I Samuel 14 - Anatomy of Faith

Johnathan and his armor bearer take a step of faith to go to the Philistine camp to see if the Lord just may give them victory and He does. Faith is thoughtful movement into uncertain results in response to a loving God. Faith motivates others and pleases God!

1 Samuel 12 & 13 - Anatomy of Fear

The Philistines gather a great army which strikes fear in the people of Israel. Fear exaggerates reality, makes you desperate and have a victim mentality!

1 Samuel 10&11 - Spirit Empowered Broken People

The Spirit of God takes this scared, hiding man named Saul and brings him courage to take the next step, community to support and encourage him and wisdom to win the battle. The Israelites are threatened by their enemy the Ammonites and are needing someone to save them. The Spirit of God rushes on this broken man to use him to bring God glory.

John 20:1-18 - The Empty Tomb!

The resurrection of Jesus changed the world. The journey of three people to an empty tomb reveals something of our journey to the a resurrected Jesus. It begins in a place of humbleness and tears, considers what we are pursuing to fix what is broken, encounters a risen Lord and then receives a calling to be his witness.

1 Samuel 9 & 10 - A Lost King

We meet a young man named Saul who is looking for lost donkeys but ends up finding something much better than he was looking for. God was orchestrating a beautiful story of his divine direction and guidance when on the surface it seemed like the things were falling apart.

1 Samuel 7 & 8 - Misplaced Hope

When the world is not as it should be, we all turn to something or someone to place our hope in. Misplaced hope never satisfies. It robs and steals your peace and joy and leaves you confused and lost. When you feel your heart drifting to something to put your hope in, ask what it is you really desire. Only hope in Jesus truly satisfies!

1 Samuel 5 & 6 - Who can stand?

No one can stand before a holy God, we all need someone to intercede on our behalf! Knowing that Jesus has brought us near and made a way for us to approach a holy God should change our perspective to come worship and our interaction with others! In these chapters the ark of the Lord is passed around like a holy hot potato and we see that no one can stand before a holy God.
