John 19 - The Crucifixion of Jesus

What you truly behold will begin to change you! The account of the crucifixion of Jesus is designed to stop us at points to have our eyes gaze on the images of Jesus. Behold the bruised man, come to break the curse of sin and offer forgiveness. We are to behold our king, who came to serve and give his life for many. We behold other followers of Jesus as a new family is created and finally as we behold the cross as "it is finished!"

John 18 - Violence Outside the Garden (Paul Fredrick)

Our very own Paul Fredrick preaches on John 18 and the arrest of Jesus in the garden. This literary artistic section ties many themes in the Bible together as we find Jesus in the garden with his disciples. As they move from the garden, they are met with violence in the upside down world outside God's space.

John 17 - The High Priestly Prayer

Jesus prays for his ministry, the disciples, and the disciples that come through the witness of those disciples. Jesus prays that they would be sent for into the world equipped for the mission he has for each of us!

John 16 - Hope in the Night

Jesus gives his disciples three keys of hope to be able to endure the darkness of the night ahead. He gives them the power of the Holy Spirit in the finished work of Jesus, the power of an eternal perspective, and finally the power of the victory of Jesus. The pain will only last for a season and through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus we have hope of new life!

John 15 - The True Vine

Jesus gives his disciples some final instructions before they face the coming trials. He tells them that he is the true vine, the true Israel that has come to bring life and bear much fruit. God has made you to be fruitful! If you are abiding in Christ, holding fast to him, and letting go of all that weighs you down, your life is meant to bear fruit, lots of fruit.

John 14 - Let not your hearts be troubled (Dan Abbott)

The disciples of Jesus were just about to walk through a difficult, confusing, emotional time and Jesus wants to give them areas of comfort and confidence in the darkness. Let not your hearts be troubled!

John 12 - To see His Glory

John explains to us how he has seen the glory of God in the two pictures of Jesus from the book of Isaiah as the one lifted up entering as both conquering King and suffering servant.

John 11 - Hope beyond the grave

Jesus walks with his friends through the death and resurrection of Lazarus. He is the resurrection and the life and show us the way of love in the land of darkness. He trusts God's purpose, weeps with those who suffer, calls life out of darkness, and lays his life down for his friend!

John 10 - The Good Shepherd

Jesus wants us to know who he is and he gives us the images of a shepherd, a king and God in the flesh so that we can truly know him. Jesus is the good shepherd, the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy found in Ezekiel of God becoming king in Jesus.
